New App Aims to Tackle Loneliness in London with Real-Life Social Events

As one in four UK adults say they feel lonely “often or always,” a new app launch is offering a fresh way to reconnect—with real people, in real life.

WeMeet is a lifestyle-first initiative designed to help people make real-life connections through curated local events, launching across more than 30 European cities, including London. It is presented by leading travel brand WeRoad.

From yoga in the park and pottery classes to after-work drinks and hiking meetups, events are designed to turn free time into connection time. Everything is hosted through the app, where users can discover events in their city, RSVP, follow favourite hosts, and receive personalised invites.

WeMeet offers a simple, feel-good solution: shared experiences with like-minded people. Whether it’s your first encounter with the WeRoad brand or you’ve already bonded with strangers on a trip to Peru or Thailand, WeMeet makes it easy to connect—no passport required.

“We’ve always seen WeRoad as more than a travel company,” says Erika De Santi, Co-Founder and Chief of Experience at WeRoad. “At our core, we’re about people. WeMeet is our way of bringing that mission closer to home, helping people form real friendships in their everyday lives—not just on holiday.”

“WeMeet is all about creating micro-moments of joy and connection,” adds Justyna Chlopecka, Regional Marketing Manager at WeRoad. “We’ve seen the power of in-person meetups through our existing community, and now we’re scaling that magic into everyday life.”

The best part? You don’t need to have travelled with WeRoad to join. All are welcome—especially those craving more meaningful social lives. Events will initially be free to attend, with a subscription model launching later this year.

To start meeting, download the WeMeet app and discover what’s happening near you.
