Colony Room Green is inviting Londoners to a free live score performance of Sergei Eisenstein’s 1925 silent masterpiece Battleship Potemkin, featuring rising composer and multi-instrumentalist Liam Stevens.
This unique immersive audiovisual experience brings one of cinema’s most iconic works into the 21st century, merging historical resonance with contemporary sonic textures.
“After 30 years in this business of singing jazz, pianists like Liam are not made, they are born, I love him, he is just incredible!” Aydenne Simone.
Ranked as one of the greatest films of all time by industry bible Sight &Sound Magazine, Battleship Potemkin is an unrivalled show of cinematic brilliance. This live score reimagines the revolutionary Soviet-era film through a dynamic, genre-blurring score. Stevens’ composition blends ambient electronic soundscapes, minimalist piano motifs, and industrial rhythms to reflect the film’s enduring themes of resistance, solidarity, and upheaval.
Stevens will perform the innovative and ingenious new musical score live at Colony Room Green at 7 p.m. Monday 19th May. It is part of the club’s exciting programme of live music events at the renowned London venue.Battleship Potemkin Screening and Live Score Performance is on Monday 19 May 7pm.
