ICELAND TO SERVE UP FREE CHICKEN TO LONDONERS AT FIRST-EVER CHICKEN SHOP TAKEOVER
Iceland has announced its first ever Chicken Shop takeover in Fulham, giving Londoners a chance to try their all-new chicken range for free, for one day only.
Officially opening its doors at 12pm on Thursday 13th February, at 264 North End Road in Fulham, Iceland’s Chicken Shop will dish out a variety of delicious chicken and chips dishes to clucking’ mad fans, free of charge.
The exclusive takeover has been announced to coincide with the supermarket predicting that this year will be its biggest ever year for chicken sales across its store portfolio thanks to the addition of an exciting new product range spanning everything from Chinese Sticky Shredded Chicken and Salt and Pepper Chicken Skewers to Chicken Wings.
Up for grabs on the day, amongst others, will be Iceland’s brand-new Chicken Tenders and chips – which come in a range of delicious flavours including Paprika, Garlic & Herb, Salt & Pepper, Buttermilk, Southern Fried, and Hot & Spicy.
Fulham foodies wanting to sample the best of the brand’s chicken products are encouraged to be quick as it’s only available whilst stocks last, with one portion available per person.
Paul Dhaliwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Iceland Foods said: “At Iceland, we’re shaking up the chicken game and what better way to give our fans a chance to sample our amazing range than to take over a whole Chicken Shop. We wouldn’t be surprised if we sold more chicken than KFC!
“We predict 2025 will be the biggest year for chicken sales at Iceland and our new range is so good…even the competition might want to come by and taste it!”
As well as unveiling their store takeover, the supermarket has also announced they are searching for a Chief Chicken Officer (CCO) who will be crowned as the real Chief of Chicken.
The role has been created after research, conducted by Iceland Foods, revealed that almost half the nation (43%) would quit their current jobs to become a fried chicken taste tester – and 17% of Londoners.
Other findings showed that Londoners’ favourite meat was chicken (40%) with four in ten (40%) admitting to having it more than three times a week and a further 13% enjoying it up to 6 times.
Not only will Iceland’s clucking-mad CCO receive a £5,000 fee for their services, but they’ll also receive a year’s supply of chicken via a loaded Bonus Card and be treated like royalty on an exclusive visit to head office.
Those wishing to apply for the role of CCO can do so on Iceland’s website here.
Applications are open from now until 10th March 2025. Click here for full terms and conditions.
