As the harsh cold snap sets in, Londoners can warm up with Gymbox’s new and exciting class offerings. Whether you’re battling the chill or embracing the freeze, the new classes are sure to fire up those looking to hit their fitness potential.

Viral fitness trend, Rucking

Since 2023 there has been an increase in Google searches of ‘Rucking’, with a spike in 2024 alongside over 140,000 uses on Instagram of #rucking; Gymbox is tapping into the hot new trend with its newest class. In collaboration with gym bag brand, Built for Athletes, the new military-inspired workout combines indoor strength training with outdoor urban exploration.

The hour-long class will have you sweating in the gym before hitting the city streets with a weighted backpack, providing a full-body workout that engages your core, legs, and back muscles, while improving cardiovascular health and naturally relieving stress.

The classes will be the first to use Built for Athletes’ brand new rucking backpacks, which will help participants push themselves to their limits.

As part of the ‘Strength’ category, gym-goers will increase the weight in backpacks to intensify the workout, building from 2.5kg plates and progressing to 10kg to help build endurance. By the end of the class, you’ll be inspired to take on the Three Peaks challenge and want to summit the three biggest mountains in the UK.

Festive stress relief: Binaural Beats

Looking to escape the everyday noise? Tune into tranquillity with Gymbox’s Binaural Beats, the first ever gym class to use sound wave therapy to help participants reach ultimate zen.

The latest addition to Gymbox’s ‘Mind’ category, the class offers a plethora of benefits such as improved focus and mood, reduced stress and improved sleep.

This class will see you lying back, wearing silent disco-style headphones, as you’re introduced to the concept of binaural beats – an unique audio experience of dual frequencies that soothe, shape, and surrender your brain to deep meditation.

As the class progresses, you’ll be guided through different frequency ranges, each designed to induce specific mental states – from deep relaxation to enhanced focus. Become a master of your mind as this class takes you on a journey through sound, leaving you feeling refreshed and deeply relaxed – very demure, very mindful (maybe even cutesy?).

London’s first K-Pop gym class

Fancy dancing like BTS or BLACKPINK? Gymbox’s K-Pop dance class, crafted by renowned choreographer Min Jung, is a rhythm-based workout that lets members channel their inner K-Pop idols. Following the genre’s rise in popularity among Gen-Z on social media and sold-out stadiums for the likes of BTS and BLACKPINK, the latest class lets die-hard fans learn the genre’s upbeat and polished choreo.

The new K-Pop dance class gives members of all abilities the chance to channel their inner K-Popstar and test their musicality, coordination, and performance skills while learning both iconic routines and new moves created weekly by Gymbox instructors. The class promises a full-body workout, boosted confidence, and plenty of endorphins giving you a full-body workout that touches the Seoul.

Hannah Curtis Nunn, Group Fitness Director at Gymbox said: “We’re always pushing the boundaries of what a workout can be. With the growing popularity of hiking and trail running, we had to bring the concept to Gymbox with our Rucking class. Fusing military-style training with urban exploration, Rucking offers our members a challenging strength and cardio workout that takes their fitness journey out of the (Gym)box and onto the city streets.

“We are committed to encouraging gym-goers to learn and develop new skills while attending our classes, and our new Binaural Beats class provides an opportunity to master the art of mental fitness. We’re excited to introduce this innovative audio-guided meditation experience to our members, offering a unique way to enhance mental wellbeing alongside physical fitness.”

“K-Pop is the perfect addition to our Rhythm category, inviting gym-goers to immerse themselves in a vibrant culture while learning fun dance moves that they can showcase on the dance floor – all while enhancing their fitness!”
