Tourism Malaysia is delighted to spotlight one of Malaysia’s most anticipated maritime events, the 21st Royal Langkawi International Regatta (RLIR), taking place from 20th to 25th January 2025.
This prestigious annual event marks the start of Southeast Asia’s 2025 sailing regatta calendar, transforming the idyllic waters of the Andaman Sea into a stunning arena where sailing vessels of all shapes and sizes showcase their elegance against the breathtaking backdrop of Langkawi’s natural beauty.
Held at the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, the highly anticipated event will welcome 32 sailing yachts from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, China, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Denmark, and Australia, with more than 250 participants. The RLIR has long been celebrated as a world-class regatta that attracts seasoned sailors, international yacht owners, and maritime enthusiasts from across the globe. The event offers an unparalleled experience, blending thrilling competition with Langkawi’s renowned hospitality, tropical beauty, and cultural charm.
Over the course of five days, participants will navigate the pristine waters of the Andaman Sea, competing across various categories and classes, ensuring a dynamic and inclusive regatta.
