Other markets should take inspiration from Denmark on digital ID, says OIX

Digital ID – let’s take inspiration from Denmark, says OIX

OIX’s #IdentityTrust2023 conference to highlight what other markets can learn from digital ID progress in Denmark

The forthcoming #IdentityTrust2023 conference will give organisations that have yet to adopt digital ID the opportunity to see just how well it is working in other markets.

Focused on the theme of building trust in digital ID, the conference will include a valuable session highlighting the significant digital ID progress made in Denmark, how the country has become a global frontrunner in digital ID and what other markets can learn from it.

Attendees to the conference, which is run by the Open Identity Exchange (OIX), a global non-profit organisation driving positive developments in digital ID, will learn how digital ID is applied across many different use cases, thanks to a positive and mutually beneficial collaboration between the public and private sectors.

99% of Denmark’s population have already adopted MitID, Denmark’s national eID solution for digital authentication in Danish banks and public websites providing online services. It is operated by the Nexi Group and has played a vital role in digitising banks and enabling the journey towards a Digital Denmark.

Delivered by Roland Eichenauer, VP Sales and Marketing eID at the Nexi Group, the case study will provide inspiration to those organisations thinking about adopting and accepting digital ID.

Nick Mothershaw, Chief Identity Strategist at OIX, said: “Digital ID adoption in markets like Denmark is ‘normal’ and works extremely well. With 99% adoption, it is clearly trusted, accessible and inclusive.

“Relying parties in the UK, and other markets where digital ID is not yet mature, should take inspiration from what we are seeing in places like Denmark. They are proving that the barriers and concerns being addressed at our conference can be overcome.”

The conference is aimed at businesses from all sectors and will address the most crucial elements impacting how they adopt, digest and operate within the digital ID ecosystem. It will take place on Thursday 28th September 2023 at County Hall in London. To attend, please register here.

This year’s Gold Sponsors are Sopra Steria and Synectics Solutions. Biometric Update is the official media partner.
