Team Repair, a multi-award-winning startup founded by engineers, is empowering hundreds of young people across London with the essential life skill of electronic repair during London Repair Week 2025, from March 3rd to 9th.
As part of a special collaboration with local councils and waste authorities, Team Repair is offering free repair workshops to young people across 12 London Boroughs. This initiative, running for one week only, will give children the chance to disassemble, debug, and repair real gadgets such as retro game consoles and remote control cars. The goal is to inspire the next generation of repair experts while raising awareness about the growing issue of electronic waste.
“Our goal is to make repair a fun activity while teaching kids valuable skills that can last a lifetime,” says Megan, Co-Founder and CEO of Team Repair. “London Repair Week is an opportunity to provide these workshops at no cost, thanks to our partnerships with local councils. It’s an exciting chance for children to get hands-on experience while learning about sustainability and STEM.”
While Team Repair typically rents repair kits to parents and schools, these free workshops are a one-time offering to mark London Repair Week and are aimed at fostering a culture of sustainability and repair across the city.
Events During London Repair Week:
- Tower Hamlets: Team Repair is running a workshop in collaboration for 60 students invited from schools across London.
- Hounslow: Team Repair is offering up to 20 local schools free repair kits for this special week. Teachers in Hounslow are encouraged to get in touch at [email protected], as there are still kits available to distribute.
- Lambeth, Wandsworth, Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham: Team Repair is teaming up with Western Riverside Waste Authority to host a competition where students can submit creative works encouraging their communities to repair. - Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham, Newham, Havering: The East London Waste Authority will be running repair workshops across four boroughs, giving students the chance to repair everyday gadgets.
- Ealing: Team Repair will be at Ealing Shopping Centre on Friday, March 7th for Fix it Friday, a free repair event hosted by West London Waste Authority. The event will feature hands-on repairs, plus a chance to win a free at-home repair kit! For more details, visit: Fix it Friday.
